Lift and Tint

  • Getting your lash lift wet before the 24-hour mark can indeed impact the retention of the treatment. The solutions used for your lash lift need time to bond and set onto your lashes, and water may interfere with the process by breaking down the solution

Brow Lamination

Like lash lift and tints, getting your laminated brows wet before the 24-hour mark can indeed impact the retention of the treatment. The solutions used for your brow lamination need time to bond and set onto your brows, and water may interfere with the process by breaking down the solution.

Brow Waxing

  • Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least 24-48 hours.
  • Refrain from hot baths, showers, saunas, or steam rooms for 24 hours.
  • Do not apply any perfumed products, lotions, or creams to the waxed area for at least 24 hours.
  • Apply a soothing, alcohol-free moisturizer to the waxed area to hydrate and soothe the skin.
  • Avoid touching or scratching the waxed area to minimize the risk of infection or irritation.
  • If any redness or irritation occurs, apply a cold compress or aloe vera gel to soothe the skin.
  • Schedule your next waxing appointment according to your hair growth cycle, typically every 4-6 weeks.

Chemical Peels

»

  • If significant discomfort is experienced when applying any product post treatment, discontinue use of that product; cleanse the face with VI Derm Cleanser to stop the discomfort.
  • The Post Peel Protectant may sting upon application, but stinging quickly subsides. Coconut oil or petroleum jelly can be used for redness, drying and chapped.
  • After the peel, any areas of pigmentation may appear darker. The change in color will be most evident on the second day, however it can happen immediately. This is normal; the darker skin will exfoliate during the peel process.
  • During the peeling phase, you must avoid sun exposure. The use of sunscreen is essential. You may do out in the sun when the exfoliation subsides, but your skin will be more sensitive to UV rays. Reapply sunscreen when outdoors.
  • Refrain from physical activities for 72-96 hours. Inducing excessive perspiration can lead to PIH or blistering. For pigmented conditions, try and refrain from sweating/exercise for 7 days.
  • During the week following the peel, use a gentle cleanser.  We recommend the VI Derm Cleanser, along with the Post Peel Protectant and SPF 50+ Sunscreen.
  • Do not cleanse with a facial machine brush until the peeling process is complete.
  • Refrain from forcing or peeling the skin as it can cause scarring or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.  If you must trim excessive skin from the face, a small pair of scissors is acceptable. Never force or peel the skin off in sheets.
  • The Post Peel Towelettes are an important part of the peeling process and must be applied in the first 48 hours following the peel application.
  • A small percentage of patients say that the Post Peel Towelette causes some itching, especially the first night. If itching is extreme, the patient may wash the face to remove the solution and the Post Peel Protectant may be applied after 10 minutes.
  • Each morning apply the Post Peel Protectant along with SPF 50+ Sunscreen. Continue for the 7 day peeling process.

Brows

  • Always wash your hands before cleansing, applying ointment, etc. Clean your brows gently twice daily with a mild soap. Apply a THIN layer of ointment 3-5 times a day or as needed throughout the 2 week healing time. No “globbing” it on, a thin layer of your medicated ointment is all you need and this will allow your makeup to breathe.
  • NO picking, scratching, or peeling the procedure area! Premature picking can cause color loss and open up the possibility of infection.
  • NO USE OF ACTIVE INGREDIENTS or products containing AHA’s, BHA’s, glycolic, lactic, or exfoliants for 14 days.
  • NO makeup directly on the procedure area for 2 weeks. Surrounding area is fine, but be mindful when removing.
  • NO water submersion. Keep Brows out of the shower, bath, pools, bodies of water, etc. a little bit of water while cleansing is fine.
  • NO exposure to direct sunlight or tanning beds. Wear a hat and use SPF daily! Regular UV exposure will contribute to color loss long term.
  • We recommend that strenuous exercise such as weight lifting, aerobic dancing or high level cardio, visits to public gyms, saunas, and swimming be halted for 14 days. Light exercise is welcomed during the first 2 weeks, just keep sweat and debris out of your brows. Public facilities can increase the risk of infection while you’re trying to heal!

Saline Li-FT®

  • It is critical to follow all aftercare instructions to prevent complications, scarring and to achieve optimum results. Please read carefully.
  • KEEP AREA CLEAN and open to the air. Do not cover with a Band-Aid or anything else, leave open to air. Air/oxygen provides good and faster healing. CLEANSE THE AREA with the Li-FT Home Care Wash. Apply the Home Care Wash to a damp clean, lint free cleansing pad and blot the area 3-4 x daily until all scabs fall off. Saline can be used instead.
  • DO NOT SOAK the treated area in water. You can shower as normal but keep the area out of the shower spray the best you can and do not let the area stay wet for more than a few minutes. It is best to keep it dry but if you do get it wet gently pat dry.
  • NO BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, TANNING, OR EXERCISE. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • DO NOT disrupt the scabbing process (i.e., no picking, scratching, etc.) All scabbing needs to fall off naturally. If you force or pick a scab off you will disrupt the process and possibly cause scarring. It is critical to keep the scabs on as long as possible to achieve optimum results.
  • TREAT AREA WITH TLC. DO NOT DO ANYTHING AT ALL THAT COULD CAUSE ISSUES OR PROBLEMS TO THE TREATED AREA.
  • ONCE ALL SCABBING HAS NATURALLY FALLEN OFF, apply one drop of Li-FT Heal Care Oil 3 to 4 times throughout the day for a minimum of 4 weeks, or until the next lightening session. DO NOT start applying the Li-FT Heal Care Oil. UNTIL all scabbing has naturally and completely fallen off. It is our goal to keep the area as dry as possible until all scabs have naturally fallen off. If you do not have Li-FT Heal Care Oil, you can substitute with Vitamin E Oil.
  • LIPS please drink all liquids with a straw until all scabbing has naturally fallen off. Brush with Toms of Maine or Classic Crest (no whitening, no peroxide toothpastes. Cut food into small bites….no biting into a sandwich. Try to keep mouth expressions to a minimum.
  • It is important to the process and integrity of the skin that 8 full weeks of healing take place before another lightening session can be done. No exceptions
  • Lightening unwanted pigment, whether through saline or laser, requires patience. Visible results typically appear within 2 to 5 sessions, but the number needed varies based on factors like pigment saturation, depth of implantation, location, skin type, and desired outcome. In some cases, only a portion of the pigment needs lightening, with the option to continue correction through color correcting or shifting. However, if pigment is misplaced or in an unwanted area, the primary goal is to lighten as much as possible.
  • If at any time you have any green or yellow puss in the area of the lightening procedure, or any concerns at all during the healing process please call us immediately.
