You’ve just invested in beautifully enhanced brows. Whether you choose microblading, powder brows, or another semi-permanent technique, what happens after your appointment matters just as much as the service itself. Proper Brow Aftercare protects your results, helps your skin heal correctly, and ensures your brows fade evenly and naturally.
At Lash and Company Erie, we walk every client through a personalized aftercare plan, but here’s a clear breakdown of what you should and should not do after your treatment.

What to Do After a Brow Treatment
Keep the area clean and dry.
For the first few days, your brows are essentially tiny healing wounds. Gently cleanse them only as directed by your artist. Avoid splashing water on them in the shower and minimize sweat.
Apply aftercare products exactly as instructed.
Use only the ointment or healing balm provided or approved by your artist. A thin layer is enough. Over-applying can clog pores and slow healing.
Sleep on your back if possible.
Friction can pull pigment out and cause uneven patches. Try to avoid pressing your face into pillows for the first week.
Expect color changes.
Your brows will look darker and bolder for the first few days. This is normal. As they heal, they’ll soften and lighten by up to 40 percent.
Follow your touch-up schedule.
Your initial appointment sets the foundation. The perfect shape and color are refined during your follow-up session. Skipping it can leave brows incomplete.
What Not to Do
Do not pick, scratch, or peel.
Flaking is part of the healing process. Let scabs fall off naturally. Picking can pull pigment out and leave scars.
Avoid water, steam, and sweat.
For at least 7 to 10 days, stay away from pools, hot tubs, saunas, and intense workouts. Moisture can cause premature fading.
No makeup on the brow area.
Foundations, powders, and brow products can introduce bacteria and irritate healing skin.
Stay out of the sun.
UV exposure breaks down pigment. Wear a hat when outdoors and avoid tanning beds completely.
Pause exfoliating products.
Retinol, acids, and exfoliants will fade your brows faster. Keep them away from the area for at least four weeks.
Why Brow Aftercare Matters
Your skin determines how well pigment holds. Even the best artist can’t control healing once you leave the studio. Following a proper Brow Aftercare routine can mean the difference between brows that heal soft and even versus ones that look patchy or fade too fast.
